We are a family friendly facility. All Racing takes place only on the track!
!!ABSOLUTELY NO PIT RACING!!
NEVER LEAN BIKES ON PROPERTY THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU. THAT INCLUDES - PORTABLE RESTROOMS, BLEACHERS, HAYBALES, FENCES, TRAILERS, VEHICLES, ETC. If your pit bike doesn't have a kickstand don't drive it to the spectator area or registration area there is not a place to lean it.
- PITBIKE RULES -
1. If you are under the age of 18 you must be a registered rider in order to operate a Pit bike or Pit quad, of any size.
2. Registered Riders under the age of 18 may use pit bikes or pit quads, but must wear a helmet.
3. UTV's and Golf Karts - You must have a driver's license or be at least 18 years old to operate a golf cart or UTV.
There are no "play areas" at Trojan Mx or Hangtime MX Park for pit bikes. Pit vehicles are to be used as transportation to and from areas. Riding or driving recklessly in the pit area will result in your vehicle being parked for an amount of time determined by referee.
Parents - you are responsible for your children. It is up to you to impress upon them the importance of not speeding in the pits. If they hit a person or vehicle, you can be held responsible for damages.
Each year Reads Racing Hosts an Annual Year End Awards Banquet. The following Series receive their awards at the banquet:
Reads Racing Amateur Championship Series - Riders must compete in 15 Events.
At each MX event in order for a rider to receive points they must take a finish in at least one moto.
At a Grand Prix Event riders must be scored in one lap, but are not required to take the checkered flag to receive a finish.
Indiana Motocross State Championship Series - Riders must compete in all 3 rounds.
Indiana Grand Prix State Championship Series - Riders must compete in all 3 rounds.
When you are on the track keep an eye open for flaggers. There will be multiple yellow caution flaggers and 1 Main Flagman. The Main Flagman is located at the finish line. He uses flags to communicate to riders where they are in the race and when it is over. Keep reading for a breakdown of all the flags!
Green - When the Green Flag is displayed it means everything is good on the racecourse, continue racing.
White Flag - When the White Flag is displayed it means there is 1 lap left in the race. This is a courtesy flag. It is possible you may not see the white flag. If you did not see the white flag but the checkered flag comes out, exit the racecourse as normal.
Checkered Flag - The Checkered Flag means the race is over. ALWAYS RACE UNTIL YOU SEE THE CHECKERED FLAG! If you would receive 2 white flags - do not pull off. Again - ALWAYS RACE UNTIL THE CHECKERED FLAG IS DISPLAYED.
Red Flag - The Red Flag means there is a problem on the racecourse. If the red flag is displayed at any point on the racecourse - stop racing immediately and exit the track at the designated exit point. Return to the starting line for further instructions.
Black Flag - The Black Flag is used to remove a specific rider from the racecourse. If you receive the black flag stop racing immediately, exit the racecourse and report to registration for instructions from the referee.
The yellow flag means there is a rider down ahead of you.
There is NO passing and NO jumping from the point where the yellow flag is displayed on the racecourse until you are passed the downed rider and all track and medical personnel.
Violation of this rule will result in penalties. Penalty is determined by the Referee. Penalties can include being docked 1 or more positions or laps or disqualification from the moto or event.
Riding reckless under the yellow flag is not tolerated!
Follow all directions from track personnel!
Yellow Caution Flaggers are given instructions on where to stand and what to do when a rider is down in their section.
The job of a caution flagger is NOT to pick up the rider - even if they are pinned under their machine. The job of a caution flagger is to warn oncoming traffic there is a problem ahead.
There is Track Personnel designated to help riders in distress.
The starting line and racecourse are both restricted areas.
Access to the starting line is restricted to the rider and 1 mechanic. The "mechanic" must be 18 years old.
PARENTS - do not bring additional children to the starting line with you.
No Dogs and No Alcohol are allowed at the starting line at any time.
ABSOLUTELY NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED ON THE RACECOURSE!
This does include Mechanics. Remain in the mechanics area - do not enter the racecourse.
If there is a rider down - do not enter the racecourse. Do not jump fences. Doing so risks disqualification of your rider. We have track personnel designated to helping riders in need. ALL riders should be able to start and pick up their own machines. Track Personnel will not start machines for racers in amateur classes. Racers in Youth Classes must attempt to pick up and start their own machine prior to receiving assistance by track personnel.
Motorsports are inherently dangerous. No health insurance is offered through our racing program. You are entirely responsible for any and all medical bills or damages you may incur as a result of injury. If you do not have adequate health insurance, you should not compete in these events.
Minor Riders must be accompanied by biological parents. MAKE SURE YOU FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH RULES AND FORMS FOR MINORS! Click on the "Learn More" button to be directed to the information page for minors.
At Hangtime MX Park we have plenty of parking! There are areas that may be outlined to maximize parking efficiency, or you may be instructed by track officials to park in a specific direction in specific areas. You must comply with any parking directions from officials.
Trojan MX - At Trojan Mx things are a little tighter when it comes to parking. At special events such as Buff Daddy Championship Weekend or State Race Weekends parking will be closely monitered and parking maps will be posted online. You must comply with any parking directions from officials.
When picking your "weekend neighbors" keep in mind......
As an overall group Motocross Racers are friendly and respectful people. BUT the best way to say this is - If you have beef with someone - don't park next to them. You're at the track to have fun. Park next to people you can have fun with.
We do not have "Quiet Hours" for generator shut off. NEVER shut off someone else's generator because it is "annoying". They may have a pet inside their vehicle, a person with special needs, etc.
