Let's get started!!

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

Motorsports are inherently dangerous.

ALL MOTORSPORTS EVENTS ARE CONSIDERED HIGH RISK FOR PARTICIPANTS AS WELL AS SPECTATORS.

SMALL CHILDREN SHOULD ALWAYS BE KEPT WITH A PARENT AND SUPERVISED CLOSESLY.

SPECTATORS SHOULD BE AWARE OF THEIR SURROUNDINGS AND UNDERSTAND THE INHERINT UNPREDICTABILITY OF MOTORSPORTS AND THE RISK OF DAMAGE TO YOUR PERSONS OR PROPERTY

No health insurance is offered through our racing program, FOR PARTICIPANTS OR SPECTATORS.  You are entirely responsible for any and all medical bills or damages you may incur as a result of injury.  If you do not have adequate health insurance, you should not compete in these events.

TRACK OFFICIALS

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

USING FOUL, ABUSIVE, AGGRESSIVE OR OTHERWISE UNACCEPTABLE LANGUAGE WITH A TRACK OFFICIAL CAN RESULT IN PENALTIES AND/OR DISQUALIFICATION.

It is the responsibility of the Referee to make decisions regarding the yellow flag, red flag, black flag.  All ruling by the referee are final.

Please note:

If you are penalized by the referee, you should not take it personal.  It is a chance to learn and grow as a competitor.

We are not "mad" we are simply enforcing the rules.  Please be calm enough to understand that.

Can you ask a question about scoring or a penalty: OF COURSE!  YES!

Questions are welcome - explanations are always available.  Conversation can be had.  Keep it clean, keep it calm - we are all on the same team!

Series Points

MOTORSPORTS ARE DANGEROUS

Series Points

Each year Reads Racing Hosts an Annual Year End Awards Banquet.  The following Series receive awards at the banquet:

Reads Racing Amateur Championship Series - Riders must compete in 15 Events.

At each MX event in order for a rider to receive points they must take a finish in at least one moto.

At a Grand Prix Event riders must be scored in one lap, but are not required to take the checkered flag to receive a finish.

Indiana Motocross State Championship Series - Riders must compete in all 3 rounds.

Indiana Grand Prix State Championship Series - Riders must compete in all 3 rounds.

**PLEASE NOTE**

Series requirements are always by class.  Points never combine between classes - required events do not "add" together.

FLAGS

RESTRICTED AREAS

Series Points

When you are on the track keep an eye open for flaggers.  There will be multiple yellow caution flaggers and 1 Main Flagman.  The Main Flagman is located at the finish line.  He uses flags to communicate to riders where they are in the race and when it is over.  Keep reading for a breakdown of all the flags!

Green - When the Green Flag is displayed it means everything is good on the racecourse, continue racing.

White Flag - When the White Flag is displayed it means there is 1 lap left in the race.  This is a courtesy flag.  It is possible you may not see the white flag.  If you did not see the white flag but the checkered flag comes out, exit the racecourse as normal.

Checkered Flag - The Checkered Flag means the race is over.   ALWAYS RACE UNTIL YOU SEE THE CHECKERED FLAG!  If you would receive 2 white flags - do not pull off.  Again - ALWAYS RACE UNTIL THE CHECKERED FLAG IS DISPLAYED.

Red Flag - The Red Flag means there is a problem on the racecourse.  If the red flag is displayed at any point on the racecourse - stop racing immediately and exit the track at the designated exit point.  Return to the starting line for further instructions.

Black Flag - The Black Flag is used to remove a specific rider from the racecourse.  If you receive the black flag stop racing immediately, exit the racecourse and report to registration for instructions from the referee.

YELLOW FLAG

RESTRICTED AREAS

RESTRICTED AREAS

The yellow flag means there is a rider down ahead of you.

There is NO passing and NO jumping from the point where the yellow flag is displayed on the racecourse until you are passed the downed rider and all track and medical personnel.

Violation of this rule will result in penalties.  Penalty is determined by the Referee.  Penalties can include being docked 1 or more positions or laps or disqualification from the moto or event.

Riding reckless under the yellow flag is not tolerated!

Follow all directions from track personnel!

Yellow Caution Flaggers are given instructions on where to stand and what to do when a rider is down in their section.

The job of a caution flagger is NOT to pick up the rider - even if they are pinned under their machine.  The job of a caution flagger is to warn oncoming traffic there is a problem ahead.

There is Track Personnel designated to help riders in distress.

If you hit a yellow flag it is the same as hitting the flag person and will be treated as such.  You should never be close enough to a flagger to hit there flag.

Clarifications:

No passing under the yellow means exactly that.  It is irrelevant if they are down a lap, in your class, etc.

No Jumping means wheels should basically be on the ground.  It does not mean you can jump as long as you don't clear the jump.

RESTRICTED AREAS

RESTRICTED AREAS

RESTRICTED AREAS

The starting line and racecourse are both restricted areas.

Access to the starting line is restricted to the rider and 1 mechanic.  The "mechanic" must be 18 years old.

PARENTS - do not bring additional children to the starting line with you OR mechanics area with you.  ZERO TOLERANCE - if you bring  additional minors with you into a restricted area you are automatically removed from the area as well.

SECOND VIOLATION RESULTS IN DISQUALIFICATION OF RIDER.

No Dogs and No Alcohol are allowed at the starting line at any time.

ABSOLUTELY NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED ON THE RACECOURSE!

This does include Mechanics.  Remain in the mechanics area - do not enter the racecourse.

If there is a rider down - do not enter the racecourse.  Do not jump fences.  Doing so risks disqualification of your rider.  We have track personnel designated to helping riders in need.  ALL riders should be able to start and pick up their own machines.  Track Personnel will not start machines for racers in amateur classes.   Racers in Youth Classes must attempt to pick up and start their own machine prior to receiving assistance by track personnel.
