Minor riders are required to obtain permission from their biological or adopted parents OR legal guardians before participating in any event(s).
Please Note: NEVER FALSELY present yourself as the biological parent to a minor rider.
If you are caught posing as a parent the following disciplinary actions will take place.
1. The minor rider in question will not be allowed to participate in any events that day.
2. If the person who posed as a parent is a rider, they will also be disqualified from participation in that days events. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN
3. If the person who posed as a parent has their own minor rider entered, they will be disqualified from that days event. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
DON'T PRETEND! THE CONSEQUENCES ARE SEVERE.
Minor Rider Requirements 2025
Married Parenting Situations: Minor participants must have a minor form completed by both biological parents.
Minor Forms are available below for printing. If only one parent can attend the event, the parent who will not be in attendance can print the form, fill it out and have it notarized and send it with the rider and other parent.
Divorced Parenting situations:
Sole Custody: If one parent has sole legal custody and the other parent has no visitation we require a minor form from the parent with sole legal custody.
If one parent has sole legal custody and the other parent does have visitation we require a minor form from both parents.
Joint Custody: A minor form is required by both parents.
Absent Parent Situations:
Legal Guardianship: If another person/relative has LEGAL guardianship over the minor, they must have guardianship papers with them at each event. We must have a minor form from every legal guardian listed on the guardianship papers.
Foster Parents: Must have minor form from both biological parents.
Due to the risk or serious injury, paralazation or death it is STRONGLY recommended parents make it highest priority to attend personally. In the event no biological parent is able to attend the following requirements must be met.
1. Minor forms from the appropriate parties as outlined above.
2. Parental authorization letter – must be printed from website, no substitue forms – must be notarized. **This letter authorizes another person to act/make decisions on behalf of the parents. Make sure you are sending someone who's judgement you trust. They should be aware of any medical and/or food allergies, health conditions, medications etc. This responsibility should not be accepted or given lightly.**
IF BOTH BIOLOGICAL PARENTS ARE ATTENDING WITH THE MINOR RIDER, YOU DO NOT NEED TO FILL OUT ANY FORMS IN ADVANCE.
KEEP READING BELOW IF YOUR MINOR WILL BE ATTENDING WITH ONLY 1 BIOLOGICAL PARENT OR NO BIOLOGICAL PARENTS.
A MINOR RELEASE MUST BE COMPLETED BY BOTH BIOLOGICAL PARENTS PRIOR TO PARTICIPATION IN ANY EVENT.
A completed minor form is valid for one calendar year. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE MINOR CAN PARTICIPATE WITHOUT THE PROPER PERSON PRESENT. It just means you do not have to fill out the form each event.
If both parents do NOT plan to attend, you will need to print out IN COLOR both pages of the below form and have it notarized by the parent who is not attending.
THE FORM MUST IN COLOR AND MUST BE NOTARIZED - IF BOTH OF THESE REQUIREMENTS ARE NOT MET THE FORM IS INVALID.
**PLEASE NOTE** The form must be filled out completely and properly to be accepted.
Any spot that asks for "Witness" is for your notary to print or sign.
If you have questions, make sure to contact our office in advance. If the form is not properly filled out it will not be accepted, and the minor will not be allowed to participate.
This authorization letter is for minors NOT attending with at least one biological or adopted parent, legal guardian OR without the parent who has sole legal custody.
PLEASE NOTE - This form must be NOTARIZED. Do not sign until in the presence of your notary.
Form must be filled in completely and correctly.
,If a biological or adopted parent or legal guardian is not attending OR the parent who has sole legal custody of the minor, you MUST have this authorization letter in addition to the Minor Release Form above.
The authorization letter is valid for one weekend at a time only! If participating both days in a weekend you must list both dates on form.
Step-parents, grand parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, etc cannot sign the minor rider in to participate without this letter.
